Gina Casella, the President/Managing Director of AT Escapes and Adriana Trigiani Tours, has been going back and forth between the US and Italy ever since she was a child. In 1991, she decided to move back to Rome where she set up an office for a US importer and oversaw the marketing and management.
Gina’s passion for cooking also inspired her to start her own catering company whose clients included The American Embassy, various Italian corporations and diplomatic families residing in Rome. During this time, she was also given the opportunity to return to her alma mater, Temple University Rome, as a teacher. After many years in Rome, Gina moved back to Manhattan to pursue a career as a Product Development Manager for a multi-million dollar company.
Gina’s love of Italy and passion for travel, food and teaching came together to make Adriana Trigiani Tours and AT Escapes a reality. Gina couples her knowledge and creativity to develop tours which allow you to indulge, be pampered, kick back and relax.
"A few years ago, Adriana needed to learn how to make shoes - she wanted to be able to describe it to her readers in the Valentine series, and for personal reasons, to learn her grandfather Carlo's craft. She called me and said, "Gina, we need to go to Italy." I put the trip together and on the flight home, Adri said, "Could you do this for my readers?" And that's how we came to create AT Escapes to bring the books, their settings and the passion on the pages to life. Join us, it's a life changer!" - Gina Casella
Best-selling author Adriana Trigiani is beloved by millions of readers around the world for her hilarious and heartwarming novels. Adriana was raised in a small coal-mining town in southwest Virginia in a big Italian family. She chose her hometown for the setting and title of her debut novel, the critically acclaimed bestseller Big Stone Gap.
Critics from the Washington Post to the New York Times to People have described Adriana’s novels as “tiramisu for the soul”, “sophisticated and wise”, and “dazzling.” They agree, “her characters are so lively they bounce off the page”, and that “… her novels are full bodied and elegantly written.”
Among her many television credits, Adriana was a writer/producer on The Cosby Show, A Different World, and executive producer/head writer for City Kids for Jim Henson Productions.
“A few years ago Gina Casella took me to Italy to research shoemaking. It was the trip of a lifetime, deep into the heart of Bella Italia, unforgettable! I said, “Gina, do you think we can do this for my readers?” Adriana Trigiani Tours was born with Gina as president. Please join us for a tour built especially and just for you, an enchanted view of Italy, led by a master.” -Adriana Trigiani
